Kharbandy Elementary School Does Not Even Have A Classroom!
November 7, 2009

Daman Elementary School has 3 classrooms made of tents!
CPT Bassid drove Dr. Rafi to Daman Elementary School and Kharbandy Elementary School to find out the exact grid of the two schools. We have to be able to locate them on the map before we had out to these schools in couple weeks.
Dr. Rafi brought few more pictures of Daman school, but this was the first time he was able to bring the pictures of Kharbandy elementary school.

Dr. Rafi and CPT Bassid are talking with village elders about Kharbandy Elementary School.
The Kharbandy elementary school did not even have its own classrooms; they were operating out of a room in the village mosque. The village elders showed the room where students studied to Dr. Rafi and CPT Bassid. There were no desks or chairs; couple of carpets on hard and cold cement floor was all they had. Despite the unfavorable condition, students were healthy and eager to learn, Dr. Rafi commented. =)
We understood the condition of the school and how much of help was needed for these children.
For now, we are planning to help them with shoes, clothes, and school supplies, however, when we are able, we will be sure to come back and help build a small school for these students.
