A Plumber and a Driver
November 4, 2009

Dr. Rafi is helping the plumber wear his new shoes.
A local plumber and a driver came to Dr. Rafi and asked for a pair of shoes for themselves. Fortunately we were able to find the right sizes for them. They were very happy with their new (?) shoes.
I know we still have many local workers asking for a pair of shoes daily, but we are short on supplies. However, I still asked Dr. Rafi to gather all the names of local workers, who did not receive a pair of shoes last time, and their shoe sizes, so when we do get the shoes, we know who to give them to.
I am glad that we found a way to recycle our old pairs of shoes and understood how valuable these shoes are to these Afghanistan people. I just imagine how much a better place our world would be if everyone looks out for each other and be more thoughtful.

Local national driver is trying on his new shoes.
I know there are many organizations and individuals out there doing the right thing, and I became very grateful to them over the deployment. I pray that they may continue their good work and be very fruitful. And I also pray that all the projects we planned be very successful as well.
