These kids study in tents…

These tents are their classrooms.
October 12, 2009
Couple nights ago, Captain Bassid, Afghan Security Guard (ASG) Commander, informed us about the two elementary schools in need of great help. He explained us how these kids are studying in tents and do not have much to study with. He offered to drive us there if we were interested in helping them.
We, of course, accepted his kindness, and Dr. Rafi visited the school with him and brought some pictures today. It was exactly how Captain Bassid explained us. These kids did not even have proper classrooms to study in. It was heartbreaking to see these pictures. There are about 200 students in both school combined.

Students in their classroom.
Most of the students did not have proper school bags, so they used one of those grocery plastic bags or a piece of cloth to carry their books. Notebooks, pencils, and many other school supplies were lacking. The tents were not even tall enough for teachers to stand up and move around freely.
A lot of students were on barefoot.
Captain Bassid and Dr. Rafi posed with the students and took picture with them.
Despite the poor overall condition, we were happy to see smiling faces on these kids faces.
We know what we need to do for these kids.

dollar store flip-flops are all they can afford.
We need to get school backpacks, school supplies, shoes, and clothes. They are critically in need of these things.
Please let us know if you can help us.
Thank you always for your great support!!
